• Look in users mailbox for a message from “Microsoft Outlook” with a temporary PIN.
• From a phone with your extension selected, press the “Voicemail” button.
• When prompted, enter the temporary PIN.
• Enter new 4-digit PIN followed by the # key.
• Say “Personal Options"
• Press 2 and record your new greeting.

Background

When a voice mailbox is setup for an end user, the system generates and sends an automated email with a temporary PIN to the associated user.  The first step is to find this email.  Often times users delete it as they think it is spam.

When the email is found, the next step is to login to the voice mailbox from a phone.  This can be done from the phone that has the number as the primary number, or from any phone by calling *xxxx (where xxxx is the extension number).

Once logged in, if it is the first time they have accessed the voicemail, they will be prompted to enter a new PIN.  When that is completed, there is a menu presented which they can follow.  The menu is voice-activated, but can be switched to button presses if desired.
