Synergy Attendance Codes
Attendance for each period should be taken in the first 10-20 minutes of class. Accurate attendance can help families to support their student to attend and can alert them if there is a safety concern.
Attendance Notifications
ParentSquare will notify secondary families of absences by period twice daily at the following times:
- 11:00 (morning attendance must be recorded by 10:30)
- 3:55 (all attendance must be recorded by 3:00)

Codes for Attendance AAs
Excused Absence Reasons:

Injury or illness*, including mental or behavioral health of the student
- If student is reported as ill, use “ILL” Attendance Code
- Bereavement or illness of an immediate family member when the student’s presence at home is necessary
- Religious instruction (under conditions specified by Oregon law)
- Educational/occupational interviews
- Emergency situations that require the student’s absence
- Medical or dental appointments—confirmation of appointments may be required
- Legal or court appointments
- Other reasons deemed appropriate by the building administrators when satisfactory arrangements have been made in advance of the absence
