Node
This refers to a menu option or folder shown in the left side Pad Tree panel. Expanding the node/menu may display sub-nodes, or sub-menus, within that folder such as Reports or Setup. Nodes are in bold text, default color is black. Depending on security access, expanding a Node may simply display the page or report options, or objects, available for view or update.

Objects
These are the content pages within a Node folder that you have security access to view or update, such as Course History, Health Screen, Student Profile, or Daily Attendance. Objects are in regular text, default color is blue.

Role
The role that the employee plays in the education and support of students. This determination takes into account the assigned job role at the school or district. Access rights needed to perform job duties will determine the Synergy role that best fits staff.

Task
A task can be added onto a user who has already been assigned a role. If someone has been assigned a role that doesn’t have access to something they need, a task can be used to give access to a specific node or menu option. Staff may be assigned multiple Tasks.

View
The term view is used to describe the level of access; when someone has view access it means that they only have view access to an object or node.
