How Substitute Teachers use Synergy

How to Access Synergy
The school will provide basic information to substitute teachers which includes:
- URL (should be similar to: https://DISTRICT.lblesd.k12.or.us)
- School Name
- Teacher Name
- Password
From the provided URL (web address) the substitute teacher will select Substitute Login.
The login screen changes. Next select the school and teacher. Enter the email address the substitute provided to the school. Enter the password provided from the school.
Home Menu includes:
- Seating Chart
- Go to Current Class
- Announcements
- Upper left corner – Select the class period (secondary) or Homeroom (for AM/PM attendance).
- Center, Attendance button – Attendance Chart or Attendance List to record attendance.
- Seating Chart – Click on student notifications to see additional pertinent information.
- Lower right corner, Substitute Instructions – Click to view and/or print teacher instructions. Note, the teacher may leave a paper copy on their desk in place of using this option within Synergy.
- Upper right corner, Sign Out – select Sign Out to exit the software.
An example of Student Notifications could include medical details.
Click the Substitute Instructions. A pop-out displays with the option to print instructions. If attachments are included they can be accessed from this pop-out.
Attendance Entry – Chart or List option
Hover over Attendance button to select Chart or List.
Attendance by Chart
Hover over Attendance button and click Chart.
- Click on the student photo to enter absence.
- One click for U (Unverified), second click for TU (Tardy Unexcused), third click to remove the code.
- Some schools may also have TE (Tardy Excused).
- Teacher cannot change office-entered attendance codes.
- Teacher cannot change prior day(s) attendance nor enter attendance for future date(s).
- If all students are present, simply click Save.
- Attendance button will remain yellow to indicate attendance has not yet been recorded by the teacher. Attendance button will be white with green checkmark once attendance has been recorded and saved by the teacher.
Attendance by List
Hover over Attendance button and click List.
- Click in the period or AM/PM column to enter absence.
- One click for U (unverified), second click for TU (tardy unexcused), third click to remove the code.
- Some schools may also have TE (tardy excused).

- Teacher cannot change prior day(s) attendance nor enter attendance for future date(s).
- If all students are present, simply click Save.
