Classroom Management Apps
Product: Securly Classroom and Apple Classroom
Audience: SPOCs to present to Building Staff
Overview
This document goes over Classroom Management apps available for staff to use in the classroom. The intended audience is expected to watch the Quick Overview video as part of an “elevator pitch” for the software and if they are interested, continue to the How to Use training on their own time.
Tools/Equipment Needed

Ask Building Admin for 5 minutes during a Staff PD
Give Elevator Pitch to Staff
- Talk to your building Principal about giving a 5 minute presentation at your next All-Staff PD. If you explain that you want to talk about a behavior management tool that could assist staff they should be willing to spare the time. It won’t take longer than 5 minutes to go over the basics. In-depth discussions should be 1to1 or in small groups afterward, not during the PD.
-
Example of Elevator Pitch during the Staff PD:
“Hello Friends!
Today I’d like to introduce a Classroom Management Tool some of you may not be familiar with. We are going to watch a short video going through some of the features this software has to offer. I will be sending you all an email containing the video and additional training on how to use the software tool. After the video, if you have any questions, please reach out to me and we can schedule a meeting time to go over everything. Thank you!”- Play the Quick Overview video that applies to your school
- “Thank you for your time and please feel free to reach out to me with any questions about this. We look forward to helping you access this tool to help manage Technology in your classroom.”
- Rather than using a signup sheet, it is recommended that you send an email to ALL building staff that contains both the Quick Overview and the How to Use information. That way all staff have access to the material, even if they were not present for the presentation. With admin approval, make sure your classified staff (especially behavioral) are aware this software can potentially be used by them as well.

Conclusion
You should be able to give the presentation at the next Building PD, keeping it short and to the point. Provide follow-up information to staff via email, so they can look at it at their convenience. Provide support accessing the tool and reach out if you need any assistance yourself. Thank you!
