How to Scan Documents, including Receipts
Documents to AVOID Scanning using the DocuMate
- The documents in this list can be scanned, but please note that scanning documents of this type will reduce the life of the scanner. Maintenance will be required more often, and replaceable parts will wear faster. These types of documents will jam more frequently, and damage to the original documents may occur. Do not scan large batches if you choose to scan these document types. This type of use is not covered under the scanner warranty and alters the replacement parts' life expectancy.
- Please consider using the Xerox Copier's Flat-Panel Scanner, which is located in every school building, when documents meet these criteria.
Place the Paper in the Scanner, then Press the Simplex or Duplex Button
Troubleshooting a Failure to Scan
-
Scans not showing up in the designated folder?
- Restart your computer and then try again.
-
Receipt not Feeding?
- Sometimes receipts can get crinkled or torn. Try trimming the top and bottom edges so the scanner rollers can grab the receipt properly.
- Did you layer receipts? Such as taping receipts to another piece of paper. This scanner is not designed for that, and it may be better to find your building copier and use the flat-panel scanner to complete the scanning job.
-
Damaged Receipt?
- A damaged receipt, such as being torn, damp, or heavily crinkled, may not be able to feed through the rollers of this scanner. In this case, find your building copier and use the flat-panel scanner to complete the scanning job.
Conclusion
You should now know how to set up, install software, scan documents, and troubleshoot failures to scan documents.
