Create Google Slides File

How to use Google Slides

  • How to use Google Slides - Computer - Google Docs Editors Help ← Click for Website
    • Include EVERYTHING you need within the slides. You can not switch tabs or display another app while recording in Google Slides. This might mean you’ll need to copy data over or create screenshots and include them.

Record a Video using Google Slides

Click the “Record” button once the Slides are ready

  • Once you’ve completed creating your Google Slides file, click the recording button to start.

Allow Microphone and Camera Permissions

  • You will want to click “Allow” for both the Microphone and Camera.
    • If you accidentally click “Block or Dismiss”, you can adjust your permissions by clicking on the symbol to the left of “docs.google.com” in the address bar, then click “Site settings”
    • Now you can adjust your Camera and Microphone to the appropriate setting.
    • If all settings are as they should be and it’s still not working correctly. Try updating ChromeOS and clearing Cache and Cookies.

Google Slides Recording Controls

  • Adjust your settings; such as where the camera position is, how large the camera window is, if you want to turn the camera off, or have speaker notes displayed.
    • Next, press the big red “Record” button and begin recording. You can re-record as many times as wanted. There is a 30-minute maximum length for the recording.
    • Once you are finished recording Google will process the video and put it in your Google Drive. The longer the video, the longer it will take to save. It could take a few minutes to render with longer videos.
    • Happy Recording!

Conclusion

Staff and Students should now understand how to create a video presentation using Google Slides.
