Checklist for Onboarding New Technology Staff

Chromebook Functionality Verification List

Use this list to verify the functionality of a chromebook after receiving one for repairs. If all of these items check out, then re-issue the device in question. If you run into problems with any of these perform the needed repairs and move on to the next. Reach out with the ticket number if you need assistance! 

  • Make sure chromebook is charging correctly 
    • Double check it’s not the charger
    • Confirm ports 
  • Verify the screen is in good working condition
    • Color looks accurate
    • Touch functionality working
    • No cracks, or pixelated lines 
  • Confirm enrollment 
    • The device allows login using a CSD account 
  • Test the keyboard
    • Do all keys function in on the login email field
  • Test the trackpad
    • Move the cursor and click with it
  • Verify network connectivity
    • Confirm you can see SSID’s and that you can browse sites
    • Run a speed test if needed
  • Test the cameras
    • Open the camera app and confirm the image looks clear
    • Verify both cameras work
  • Test the speakers
    • Play a random youtube video, this can also be used for the network connectivity test
  • Test the audio jack
  • Look for visible damage to the hinges and hinge caps 
  • Test the device can go into “tablet mode” 
  • Confirm all screws under the chromebook are present
