App Request Overview

Starting in the 24-25 school year, all app requests must be submitted through the Technology ticketing system, Incident IQ. This process has been changed to improve response time to new requests and keep all ticket records in a single system.

When submitting an app request, several stages of approval must be passed to determine whether it can be deployed to students. These stages of approval include a Building Admin Review (for paid apps), SG&E Instructional Review, SpEd Instructional Review (for apps that address a specific accommodation), and a Technical Review.

For additional background on why these steps are part of our approval process, we have created the following documentation:

Submit an App Request

All app requests must be submitted through the Technology ticketing system, Incident IQ.

To place the correct ticket type, select NEW Equipment / App Requests > Submit App Request

For a refresher on how to open tickets with Incident IQ, visit our Ticket Tutorial.

Approved App List

When submitting an App Request ticket, the first question will ask if your app is on the Approved App List. The link below will take you to the spreadsheet where all approved and rejected app information is tracked:

Approved App List

If the app is not listed on the Approved Apps tab, please select “No, this app is not on the approved list” when submitting your ticket.

Lexia and other apps appear in this dropdown because they are already approved and commonly requested. Selecting any of these options will expedite your request since the apps have already been reviewed.

Ticket Process

When filling out the ticket details, please include as much information as you can.  The more details, the less "sleuthing" SG&E, SPED, and Tech will need to do in order to answer your request.

Once your ticket is submitted, it will be sent for approval to specific teams depending on the app request details. As soon as a specific department or team has completed their review, you will be notified via email. If you have any questions during the review or deployment process, you may comment in the ticket or respond to any of the emailed ticket updates.

Conclusion

By adhering to these guidelines, we contribute to a safer, more compliant, and effective technology landscape. Your cooperation in implementing and enforcing these policies is crucial for the continued success of our district.
